LONDON (AP) - Ed Warner has been appointed chairman of London's organizing committee for the 2017 track and field world championships.
Warner is also chairman of UK Athletics. He will submit a framework for running the event to track and field's governing body. Warner will work with Sports Minister Hugh Robertson and London Mayor Boris Johnson to appoint a vice chairman and the rest of the board.
Warner says he is "absolutely thrilled'' with the appointment and "the opportunity to fulfill the promises we made in the bid.''
