ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- Frank Catalanotto drove in a pair of runs and Doug Davis pitched six strong innings to give the Texas Rangers a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the Grapefruit League. Catalanotto had RBI singles in the fifth and seventh and had two of the Rangers' nine hits. Davis allowed one run and five hits in six innings with one walk and four strikeouts. Four relievers followed with Todd Van Poppel pitching the ninth for his second save of the spring. Joe Kennedy took the loss, allowing three runs and seven hits in six innings. Steve Cox had two hits for the Devil Rays, who fell to 7-16 this spring. |
