JUPITER, Florida (Ticker) -- Kevin Millar belted a grand slam and knocked in six runs, powering the Florida Marlins to a 12-4 Grapefruit League victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Millar hit his third spring homer in the fourth inning off St. Louis starter Bud Smith. He finished 4-for-5 and also scored two runs to pace the Marlins' 19-hit attack.

Veteran outfielder Tim Raines, who at 42 is trying to make the Marlins as a reserve, added two hits and drove in two runs.

Marlins starter Ryan Dempster surrendered four runs and six hits over six innings for the win. The righthander struck out two without a walk.

It was a disastrous outing for Smith, who was ripped for seven runs and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Jim Edmonds smacked a two-run homer for St. Louis.
