PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida (Ticker) -- Omar Daal pitched six strong innings and Chad Kreuter had three hits, including a solo homer as the Los Angeles Dodgers rolled to a 7-1 Grapefruit League victory over the New York Mets. Acquired in an offseason trade from Philadelphia, Daal limited the Mets to just one hit while walking one and striking out six. A backup catcher, Kreuter went 3-for-4 and homered off Grant Roberts in the eighth inning. Dave Roberts had two hits and a pair of RBI and Brian Jordan went 2-for-4 for Los Angeles, which scored five times in the first four innings. New York starter Pedro Astacio was ripped for six runs and 10 hits in six innings. Roberto Alomar knocked in the Mets' run in the eighth. |
