FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (Ticker) -- Masato Yoshii allowed eight runs and 10 hits in two innings as the Montreal Expos dropped a 10-2 decision to the Baltimore Orioles in Grapefruit League action. Marty Cordova belted a grand slam in the first inning as 12 of the Orioles' first 14 batters reached base. The win was Baltimore's 16th in the last 18 contests. Melvin Mora hit a two-run blast, also in the first, and has five homers in the last six games. Jay Gibbons drove in two runs and Jeff Conine and Tony Batista drove in a run apiece. Kevin Towers allowed four runs and nine hits in six innings, striking out one without allowing a walk for the Orioles. Jose Vidro and Brad Wilkerson hit solo homers for the Expos and Henry Rodriguez added a two-run shot. Lance Johnson added an RBI single for Montreal. |
