Penny Hardaway. Tony Harris. Robert O'Kelley.
The home of Rock 'n' Roll's biggest star has proven also to be a basketball hotbed this decade. O'Kelley, the all-time scoring leader at Memphis' White Station High, can shake like The King as well.
The ACC's leading returning scorer, O'Kelley has been the Demon Deacons' heart and soul in the post-Tim Duncan era, logging 162 3-pointers while shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. He can drive to the hoop just as well.
We first noticed O'Kelley as a freshman when he hit the buzzer-beater against Georgetown in only his third game. He would go on to post the highest scoring average (16.6) ever by a Wake Forest freshman in ACC play.
When we last noticed the junior, he was putting up 36 in a losing effort against Xavier in the NIT.
The Deacs hope an influx of talent will allow O'Kelley to rest a little more often and allow him to return to his more natural point guard position.
