Scouting report
| |
Fizer received little national notoriety last season because Iowa State finished 15-15, and Ames, Iowa is hardly a media center. The Cyclones' offense mostly revolved around Fizer last year with the forward leading the team in scoring in 22 of their 30 games.
Fizer's productivity is not surprising since he was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year two seasons ago. Other honors that season included selections to a couple of national all-freshman teams. Last season, he was one of 16 finalists to the 12-member USA Baskeball World University Games team.
Fizer is listed at 265 pounds, up from last year's weight of 240. That should help him more inside in the physical Big 12. But Fizer will need help from teammates if the Cyclones are going to get bigger in the Big 12 standings.
