NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Another Saturday, another easy home win for Oklahoma.

Hollis Price scored 13 of his season-high 22 points in the first half as the eighth-ranked Sooners stretched their home winning streak to 27 games with a 69-47 victory over Coppin State.

Beginning with an 82-73 victory over Princeton on November 23, Oklahoma is in a five-game stretch of home contests on Saturdays against overmatched opponents. Next week's sacrificial lamb is Georgia State, and the Sooners have another week off until facing Mississippi State in the Sugar Bowl Classic on December 28.

"This week we won't have a whole week of practice because of final exams," Oklahoma coach Kelvin Sampson said. "The emphasis this week will certainly be on academics."

With just one game a week, there was a chance the Sooners (5-1) could have lost their edge. But Price helped get OU off to a quick start. One of his five 3-pointers came just before the horn and opened a 35-20 halftime lead.

"I think we played pretty well today," Price said. "Coppin State is a real scrappy team and they hung around for a long time. I think we did a good job of adjusting to their 2-3 zone defense."

Quannas White had 13 points and seven assists and Ebi Ere scored 10 points for the Sooners, who have won the first five games of their six-game homestand by at least 20 points.

"Coppin State is not an easy team to play against," Sampson said. "They milk the shot clock every single possession."

Jimmy Boykin scored 17 points for Coppin State (1-6), which is 0-9 all-time against Oklahoma, losing by an average of just under 24 points.

The Eagles shot just 36 percent (16-of-44) and were outrebounded, 37-28.

"It was definitely a physical game for us," Coppin State coach Fang Mitchell said. "We learned a lot today on how important the weight room is."

In the first half, the Eagles made just 9-of-24 shots, while the Sooners made 10-of-18 and all 10 of their free throws. Oklahoma quickly pushed the lead to 42-23 early in the second half and cruised thereafter.

De'Angelo Alexander scored nine points and fellow freshman Kevin Bookout grabbed 11 rebounds for the Sooners, who cooled off after halftime and finished at 41 percent (22-of-54).

"We were down four rebounds at halftime, and coach made it real clear in our locker room what we had to do on the boards and we just got after it," Bookout said.

Oklahoma native Deke Thompson had 14 points and seven assists for the Eagles, who are 0-2 on a five-game road swing.

"It was great to come home and play in front of friends and family," Thompson said. "I love playing the hard road schedule; coach always has us prepared."
