Vanderbilt gave Notre Dame its first real competition of the tournament. The lead flip-flopped between the two center-dominated teams in the first half, but with Vanderbilt center Chantelle Anderson in foul trouble most of the second half (she fouled out with 6:22 left to play), the Fighting Irish were able to take the lead and maintain it.
