DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Alana Beard scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack as Duke used another strong defensive performance to roll past Arkansas, 75-54, in an NCAA Tournament West Region second-round game.

Beard added seven rebounds, six assists and three steals for the top-seeded Blue Devils (30-3), who limited Arkansas to 33 percent (19-of-57) shooting from the field while forcing 19 turnovers.

Georgia Schweitzer chipped in 13 points and freshman Rometra Craig had 11 off the bench as Duke recorded its seventh straight win. The Blue Devils set a single-season school record for wins and will meet surprising Southwest Missouri State on Saturday in the regional semifinals at Spokane, Washington.

"That's great for our program. Thirty wins, that's a lot of wins," Schweitzer said. "That's a great step, I think, for our program and hopefully by the time these guys (Beard and Craig) graduate, that will happen on a more regular basis." Duke trailed by as many as seven points early and were down, 16-10, with nine minutes left in the first half. But Schweitzer's 3-pointer capped a 7-0 burst and put the Blue Devils on top for good, 29-23, with 3:32 to go.

Wendi Willits answered with a 3-pointer for Arkansas, but Duke ran off the next seven points and took a 36-29 lead into the locker room.

"We were rushing our shots and we weren't doing a good job defensively, either," Duke coach Gail Goestenkors said. "I felt that once we settled down, we played an excellent basketball game. Again, I still think the layoff we had -- it took us a little while to adjust. As the game continued, we just got better and better." The Lady Razorbacks (20-13) got back within 38-35 early in the second half before the Blue Devils took control with a 12-0 spurt.

Amy Wright and Dana Cherry each scored 11 points for Arkansas, which was making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since reaching the Final Four in 1998.

"They stepped up their defense a little bit. But at the same time, we couldn't execute our offense," Wright said. "And I think it was obvious that we couldn't pass the ball. We couldn't get the ball into the post. We couldn't do what we wanted to. Yeah, I give them credit, but we have to take some of the blame." .
