AMES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Amber Tarr led four players in double figures with 21 points as 16th-ranked Texas Tech posted a 78-66 victory over No. 9 Iowa State in a Big 12 Conference contest. Tarr led Texas Tech's 3-point assault by making all five of her field goals from beyond the arc. Overall, the Lady Raiders (11-4, 3-3 Big 12) made 12-of-21 3-pointers. Texas Tech also got strong play off the bench as Natalie Ritchie scored 17 points and Jolee Ayers added 12. Starting guard Jia Perkins contributed 13. The Lady Raiders posted their second straight victory following a three-game slide. Angie Welle collected 26 points and 15 rebounds while Lindsey Wilson added 21 points for Iowa State (14-4, 2-4), which has dropped three of its last four. Tracy Gahan also grabbed 15 rebounds, helping Iowa State maintain a 45-30 edge on the boards. But the Cyclones shot just 40 percent (24-of-60) and committed 20 turnovers. |
