NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Stacey Dales scored 21 points to lead six players in double figures as second-ranked Oklahoma breezed past No. 12 Texas, 89-69, in a Big 12 Conference game. LaNeishea Caufield scored 19 points and Jamie Talbert added 13 for the Sooners (15-1, 5-1 Big 12), who bounced back nicely from Tuesday's 82-66 loss at No. 9 Iowa State that ended a four-game winning streak. Oklahoma shot 49 percent (33-of-67) from the field. Dales made 9-of-16 shots and Caufield made 6-of-14. Caton Hill scored 12 points and Rosalind Ross and Dionnah Jackson added 10 apiece for the Sooners. Texas (13-3, 5-1) came in leading the Big 12 but shot just 38.5 percent (10-of-26) in the first half, falling into a 42-33 hole. The Lady Longhorns finished at 48 percent (25-of-52). Stacy Stephens had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Kala Bowers scored 17 points for Texas, which had a six-game winning streak snapped. |
