RUSTON, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Amber Obaze led four players in double figures with 16 points and 11 rebounds as No. 9 Louisiana Tech rolled to its 11th straight victory, 77-46 over Tulsa in Western Athletic Conference action. Obaze was one of three players to post double-doubles for Louisiana Tech (13-3, 8-0 WAC). Takeisha Lewis collected 13 points and 12 rebounds off the bench while Ayana Walker added 12 and 10. The Lady Techsters shot just 34 percent (17-of-50) in the first half but still opened a 38-18 lead. Essence Perry handed out seven assists and had four of the team's 18 steals. Alyssa Shriver scored 18 points to lead Tulsa (10-8, 5-3), which shot 30 percent (16-of-53) and committed 26 turnovers. Carla Morrow had a forgettable evening, making just 2-of-10 shots for five points to go with seven turnovers. Louisiana Tech held a commanding 68-42 advantage on the glass, including 10 boards by Cheryl Ford. Ford and Catrina Frierson each grabbed eight of the Lady Techsters' 41 offensive rebounds. |
