![]() TNT tips off All-Star weekend coverage Posted: Thu February 5, 1998 at 6:29 PM ET NEW YORK (CNN/SI) -- TNT begins its coverage of All-Star Weekend on Friday at 10 p.m. ET with a look ahead at the weekend's festivities, a look back at the first half of the season and a quick look at what to expect in the second half of the season. Host Ernie Johnson is joined by Cheryl Miller, Reggie Theus, Craig Sager and Scott Hastings. All-Star Weekend begins Saturday at noon ET with the NBA TeamUp Celebration. NBA stars such as Patrick Ewing, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan join celebrities including Brandy, L.L. Cool J, Salt-n-Pepa and Tyra Banks in honoring young people who have shown extraordinary dedication to volunteerism and who have made a positive impact on their community. NBA All-Star Saturday Night begins at 7 p.m. ET with Nestle Crunch All-Star 2-Ball, where NBA and WNBA players team up. Players include Houston Rockets guard Clyde Drexler teaming with Cynthia Cooper of the Houston Comets; the New York Knicks' Allan Houston and Rebecca Lobo of the New York Liberty; and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers coupled with Lisa Leslie of the L.A. Sparks. Bob Neal, Cheryl Miller and Doc Rivers will be courtside for TNT The Schick Rookie Game -- including San Antonio's Tim Duncan, New Jersey's Keith Van Horn and others -- matches the Eastern Conference against the Western Conference. Dick Stockton and Hubie Brown will call the action The AT&T Shootout features some of the best three-point shooters in the business, each trying to sink as many shots as possible in 30 seconds. Neal, Theus and Rivers will describe all the action. Also look for the Sony MD Million Dollar Shot, where contest winner Saul Holcman gets one chance to make $1 million by making an NBA three-pointer. All-Star Saturday is hosted by Ernie Johnson, with Craig Sager and Bryan Burwell providing interviews with players, coaches and celebrities. |
