Tiger Woods has been a legend in the making since he was old enough to hold a golf club, but someone forgot to tell Sergio Garcia to be impressed. The young sensation known as "El Niņo" took Tiger by the tail in the final round of the 1999 PGA Championship. Woods built a five-stroke lead and eventually won, but Garcia stole the glory with one amazing shot on the 16th hole.
Garcia's 3-wood off the tee rolled through the fairway and ended up against a tree. The safe play would have been a chip back to the fairway, but Garcia went for it all. The 19-year-old ripped at it with a 6-iron, closing his eyes and turning his head. The shot was amazing, but the young Spaniard's reaction was what really stole the crowd's heart. Garcia literally sprinted up the fairway, patting his heart as an electric roar told the story. Garcia went on to nail the improbable par, and though he lost the title by one stroke, he served notice that he had arrived.
