BIOGRAPHY: Three-year starter awarded All-American and All-Conference honors since his sophomore campaign. Senior-year passing totals included 60.4%/2988/43/1 with 101/726/2 on the ground. Junior-year passing totals included 66.3%/3320/35/5 with 720 rushing yards. Led Division I-AA in total offense/game, total passing yards for the season, and points/game.

POSITIVES: Mobile timing passer who.s effective in the short and intermediate game. Patient, buys time in the pocket, and scans the field for open receivers. Possesses a quick release, accurate under 15 yards, and displays velocity on shorter throws. Poised under pressure and can elude the rush and make the pass in motion. Senses where his receivers are on the field and makes plays with his legs.

NEGATIVES: Late on the timing passes and cannot drive the deep ball. Does not throw tight spirals. Throws with a three-quarter delivery.

ANALYSIS: Johnson has done a terrific job the past three years on a small-school level and he.s not a signal-caller who makes poor choices. He could be an effective backup in a west coast offense, yet he does not possess the tools to be a starting quarterback at the next level.

PROJECTION: Late Sixth Round
