Seminoles cap unbeaten season with storybook finish against gutsy Hokies
Florida State's 46-29 win over Virginia Tech for the national football championship was the ultimate comeback, says Sports Illustrated's Tim Layden -- for wideout Peter Warrick, for quarterback Chris Weinke, for a Seminoles team that was embarrassed in last year's title game. Warrick's MVP performance helped give coach Bobby Bowden his first undefeated season and his second national title, as the Seminoles became the first team to go wire-to-wire ranked No. 1 in the AP poll since preseason rankings began in 1950.
