Record: 11-0, 8-0 ACC
Coach: Bobby Bowden
Top Off. Player: QB Chris Weinke (61.5 completion percentage, 3,103 yards, 25 TDs)
Top Def. Player: DT Corey Simon (82 tackles, 20 for loss)
Season Summary:
The Seminoles survived a midseason lull and the arrest of Peter Warrick to stay in national championship contention. Weinke's clutch second-half performance against Florida showed why he's a big-game quarterback. He has thrown to as many as 10 different receivers in a game. The defense has proven vulnerable at times.

  Record: 11-0, 7-0 Big East
Coach: Frank Beamer
Top Off. Player: QB Michael Vick (1,840 passing yards, 580 rushing yards)
Top Def. Player: DE Corey Moore (13 sacks)
Season Summary:
It's hard to imagine that Vick is a freshman, considering his presence is probably why Virginia Tech has gone from bowl team to national-title contender. He and RB Shyrone Stith lead an underrated offense, Moore leads a stout defense and the Hokies' special teams unit may be the nation's best.
