He has tailed off a little bit on many NFL draft boards after being highly touted entering the season. He has been bothered all year by an ankle sprain and has never really seemed to be at the top of his game. He has added bulk and strength in the last year and is pushing 290 lbs now and he carries it well. He has excellent overall speed for an inside player, a good initial first step and he plays with enough leverage and explosiveness to be effective versus the run. When healthy, he appears to have natural instincts and has the ability to locate the ball. He has some one gap pass rush skills and has the quickness to beat a lot NFL OGs. The combine and individual workouts leading up to draft will be critical for Davis as many NFL teams are a little confused about his potential and ability right now, but there is a high upside if he is healthy and motivated.
