Biography: All-conference selection as a senior after posting career-best numbers of 79 receptions/1306 yards/12 TDs. Started seven games as a junior, posting 50/611/9. Had 48/641/4 as a sophomore in 10 starts.
Positives: Nice-sized underneath receiver who's developing a polished game. Consistent hand-catcher who displays terrific focus and concentration and the ability to make the reception with defenders draped on him. Gets vertical in a crowd and competes to make the tough catch. Extends his hands and makes the reception away from his frame. Exposes himself to the big hit over the middle of the field in order to come away with the ball. Smart football player who consistently finds ways to separate from defenders and come free to make himself an available target. Effectively makes the downfield reception and displays good eye/hand coordination. Uses his frame to shield away defenders and fights hard to come away with the ball.
Negatives: Overall game lacks quickness and speed. Tends to round off pass routes. Cannot stretch the defense vertically.
Analysis: After a somewhat disappointing junior season, Cunningham elevated his game as a last year. He possesses all the tools necessary to be a third or fourth receiver at the next level, although Cunningham will only be effective in the underneath coverage.
