PLAYERS
Biography: Full-time starter the past two seasons, posting 26 tackles/6 tackles for loss/1 sack as a senior after he had 41/6.5/2 the
prior year.
Positives: Explosive yet slightly undersized defensive lineman with potential at a number of spots upfront. Displays outstanding first-step quickness, keeps his feet moving on contact and gets momentum going up the field. Plays with good balance, leverage and displays the ability to drop off the line of scrimmage then play in space on zone blitzes. Quickly locates the action and displays a good head for the ball. Adequate change-of-direction ability. Plays hard until the whistle blows. Negatives: Lacks size and can be overwhelmed at the point of attack by a single blocker. Must develop more moves with his hands. Analysis: Jacobs was an adequate player at Minnesota, but he lacks top measurables for the next level. He offers potential as a three-technique lineman in the NFL if he proves his worth on special teams. Projection: FA |
