PLAYERS
Biography: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors since his junior season and named to several All-America teams in 2010. Senior
totals included 50 receptions/523 yards/3 TDs after posting a team-leading 90/762/5 as a junior.
Positives: Tall, productive pass-catching tight end who makes a lot of plays down the field. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage into pass routes, easily gets downfield and adjusts or contorts to make the difficult reception. Effectively uses his frame to shield away defenders and displays skill running after the catch. Occasionally lined up in the slot and almost always wins out in battles to make the catch. Blocks with good lean and gives effort. Negatives: Possesses marginal football strength, overextends into blocks and minimally effective on the line of scrimmage. Analysis: Egnew was very productive the past two seasons and shows the skills desired in today's NFL tight end. He's a tall target who can get down the field and fight to make the reception. Egnew offers a good degree of upside and should be a very productive starting tight end down the road. Projection: 3rd
