PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-American and all-conference honors since his freshman season. Senior totals included 66 tackles/2
interceptions/5 pass breakups, placing him second on the Alabama defense in tackles. Junior numbers included 75/3/6. Posted
76 tackles as a sophomore. Underwent surgery to repair a double hernia in the offseason.
Positives: Forceful safety who impacts the game in all areas. Strong, remains disciplined with assignments and keeps the action in front of him. Displays solid ball skills, has a nice burst to the ball out of his break and displays better than average skills in man-to-man situations. All over the field; covers receivers deep or gets behind the line of scrimmage to make plays. Aggressive, explodes up the field and is a solid run defender. Displays good awareness, shows speed getting outside the numbers and is quick to the action. Nice timing and anticipation in pass defense. Negatives: Occasionally gets turned by receivers and loses positioning. Too often goes for the knockout blow rather than wrapping up ballcarriers. Occasionally takes improper angles to the action. Analysis: Barron has been a force on the Alabama defense since his sophomore season and is an underrated safety who displays skill against the run and pass. He offers potential in a number of defensive systems at the next level and will contribute as a rookie if he's completely healthy. Projection: 1st ![]() John Biever
