PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a junior with totals of 49 receptions/762 yards/8 touchdowns. All-American
and all-conference choice the prior year after career-best numbers of 88/1,517/9. Freshman totals included 46/763/6.
Positives: Big, strong receiver who consistently wins out in battles. Works his hands to get off jams at the line of scrimmage, sells routes and works to come free from defenders. Offers the quarterback a big target, gives effort running after the reception and is tough to bring down. Battles defenders and competes to make the catch. Gets vertical and easily out-jumps opponents for the high throw. Displays soft and strong hands with the ability to snatch the ball from the air. Uses his size and strength to get separation from defenders. Effective blocker when he gives effort. Negatives: Does not always play with great balance or body control. Cannot run to the long throw and shows minimal quickness in his game. Struggles making over-the-shoulder catches downfield and drops some catchable throws. Does not give consistent effort blocking. Analysis: Jeffery is a massive receiver who could get consideration as a move tight end. He fits today's NFL passing game, which has the big, tall pass catchers getting vertical to fight for the reception. Jeffrey has speed and quickness limitations and must commit himself to year-round conditioning. He will have a long and productive NFL career if he consistently plays at a high level. Projection: 2nd ![]() Gary Bogdon
