PLAYERS
Biography: All-American and All-conference choice last season as well as winner of the Doak Walker Award in 2011. Junior totals included
263 attempts/1,583 yards/20 touchdowns on the ground with 27/327/3 as a receiver. Started two games as a sophomore, finishing
with rushing totals of 112/700/6 and 23/266/4 receiving.
Positives: Well-rounded ballcarrier with potential as a featured back in the NFL. Instinctive, sees the field, chooses his spots on the inside and makes defenders miss in the open field. Runs low to the ground, weaves through traffic and effectively follows blocks everywhere on the field. Patient, keeps his feet moving on contact and turns it on in a single step. Breaks tackles, picking up yardage off initial contact, and rarely gets brought down by the first defender. Aggressively lays his shoulders into opponents and falls forward when tackled. Smooth, gliding runner who displays the ability to cut back in a small area and avoid piles. Workhorse back who can handle a lot of carries. Reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield who extends to make catches away from his frame. Does not give up on plays and works to produce as much yardage as possible whenever handling the ball. Negatives: Does not display the speed necessary to turn the corner and is not a downfield threat as a receiver. Not a back who makes something out of nothing. Analysis: Richardson was a tremendous back at Alabama and has a great combination of quickness, power and instincts. He possesses the skills necessary to be a No. 1 ballcarrier at the next level and would be a good fit for a variety of offensive systems. Projection: 1st ![]() Al Tielemans
