1998 NFL Major Off-Season Trades

Arizona Cardinals -- Traded the second overall pick in the 1998 draft to the San Diego Chargers for first-round picks in 1998 and 1999, a 1998 second-round pick, wide receiver Eric Metcalf and linebacker Patrick Sapp. Acquired Adrian Murrell, rb, from New York Jets for third-round pick.

Baltimore Ravens -- Acquired quarterback Jim Harbaugh and a 1998 fourth-round draft pick from the Indianapolis Colts for a 1998 third and fourth-round pick; acquired running back Errict Rhett from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 1999 third-round draft pick.

Buffalo Bills -- Acquired quarterback Rob Johnson from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 1998 first and fourth-round draft pick.

Cincinnati Bengals -- Traded defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson, an unrestricted free agent designated as a franchise player, to the Washington Redskins for a first-round and third-round pick in the 1998 draft; acquired quarterback Paul Justin from the Indianapolis Colts for a 1998 fifth-round pick.

Detroit Lions -- Acquired linebacker Rob Fredrickson from the Oakland Raiders for a 1998 fourth-round draft pick.

Green Bay Packers -- Traded quarterback Steve Bono to the St. Louis Rams for a 1999 draft pick.

Indianapolis Colts -- Traded quarterback Jim Harbaugh and a 1998 fourth-round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens for a 1998 third and fourth-round pick; traded quarterback Paul Justin to the Cincinnati Bengals for a 1998 fifth-round pick.

Jacksonville Jaguars -- Traded quarterback Rob Johnson to the Buffalo Bills for a 1998 first and fourth-round draft pick.

New Orleans Saints -- Traded cornerback Eric Allen to the Oakland Raiders for an undisclosed 1998 draft pick.

New York Jets -- Traded fullback Lorenzo Neal to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for an undisclosed 1998 draft pick; traded defensive end Hugh Douglas to the Philadelphia Eagles for a second-round and a fifth-round pick in the 1998 draft.

Oakland Raiders -- Acquired cornerback Eric Allen from the New Orleans Saints for an undisclosed 1998 draft pick; traded linebacker Rob Fredrickson to the Detroit Lions for a fourth-round pick in the 1998 draft.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Acquired defensive end Hugh Douglas from the New York Jets for a second-round and a fifth-round pick in the 1998 draft.

San Diego Chargers -- Acquired the second overall pick in the 1998 draft from the Arizona Cardinals for first-round picks in 1998 and 1999, a 1998 second-round pick, wide receiver Eric Metcalf and linebacker Patrick Sapp.

St. Louis Rams -- Acquired quarterback Steve Bono from the Green Bay Packers for a 1999 draft pick.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Traded running back Errict Rhett to the Baltimore Ravens for a 1999 third-round draft pick; acquired fullback Lorenzo Neal from the New York Jets for an undisclosed 1998 draft pick.

Washington Redskins -- Traded a first and third-round pick in the 1998 draft to the Cincinnati Bengals for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson, who was designated as a franchise player by the Bengals.
