Jacquez
Green 2nd round, 34th overall Receiver,
Florida Comments: Excellent complementary receiver in
improving Buc offense. Doesn't have great size, but may be a lot like Raven
receiver Jermaine Lewis
in the slot. Not sure most NFL strong safeties can cover him
one-on-one. Brian
Kelly 2nd round, 45th overall Cornerback, Southern
Cal Comments: Has good size, but speed seems to be big
question mark ... didn't run well in the post-combine workouts. Could get
starting nod at right cornerback, as they need his size vs. big NFC Central
receivers. Jamie
Duncan 3rd round, 84th overall Linebacker,
Vanderbilt Comments: Solid college playmaker at middle
linebacker despite being nicked up a lot. Will have time to learn system,
as he waits his turn behind All-Pro Hardy Nickerson. Todd
Washington 4th round, 104th overall Guard, Virginia
Tech Comments: Should add depth in improving young line
and although center is natural position, he will probably backup at guard
as long as Tony Mayberry
plays at center. Good college player that needs to improve strength and
power and become a better finisher. James Cannida 6th
round, 175th overall Defensive tackle, Nevada
Comments: Small, quick one-gap-type tackle ... has some penetration
and quickness, but may struggle on NFL level with big guards. Will be tough
for him to make this team and he could wind up on practice squad if Bucs
see developmental qualities. Shevin
Smith 6th round, 184th overall Safety, Florida
State Comments: Will likely have shot to make club as backup
free safety but it won't be easy. Doesn't have great speed but fairly
efficient guy that doesn't make a lot of mistakes. Chance
McCarty 7th round, 212nd overall Defensive end, TCU
Comments: Drafted as a developmental edge pass rusher.
One-dimensional guy at this stage ... lacks bulk and power but he does have
excellent athletic ability and movement skills ... will probably wind up on
practice squad and be developed as a situational pass rusher.
