Soldiers of fortune: Davis (30) and Sharpe (84) helped the Broncos rack up 515 yards of total offense against the Cowboys AP

Just to set things straight: the Super Bowl-destined Bucs are 0-2, and the Saints, picked by one magazine to go 1-15, are 2-0. The Falcons and Seahawks are 2-0, while the Jets and Lions are 0-2. The second week of the NFL continued to be a surprising one.

Many of the top teams continued to win as expected -- Denver, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Miami are an impressive quartet of AFC undefeateds. The Packers and Vikings lead the NFC pack with crucial home wins of their own.

And the league's top three rushers from last season -- Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis and Jerome Bettis -- who had been held under 100 yards in Week 1, returned to dominance with touchdowns and strong performances.

Special-teams performers continued to shine -- no fewer than five touchdowns were scored on kickoff and punt returns. Seattle's defense now has three touchdowns, which is two more than Philadelphia's offense has this year.
