  Anderson rushed for 100 yards on 31 bruising carries to carry the Falcons to first place in the NFC West AP

Week 11 was one for the books, the record books.

Dallas' Emmitt Smith moved ahead of Jim Brown on the NFL career touchdown list with 127 after scampering to the end zone on three different occasions. Smith also ran for 118 yards on 26 carries. He is just 11 rushing yards short of becoming the third player ever to have eight straight 1,000-yard seasons.

The Packers' Brett Favre took out an up-n-down season on the New York Giants. He hit "the books" with the 267 yards passing and two touchdowns, becoming the second-fastest quarterback to throw 200 career touchdown passes and reach the 25,000-yard plateau in yards.

Jacksonville's Fred Taylor tied his own club-record for single-game rushing yards with 128 on 21 carries. It was Taylor's 70-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter that won it for the Jaguars.

The Bengals had just 28 yards passing in the first half, as Neil O'Donnell and Jeff Blake combined for 91 yards passing for the game Minnesota's Dwayne Rudd busted open a sloppy game with a 63-yard fumble return Randall Cunningham, just six days after surgery to remove two bone chips from his right knee, threw for 224 yards and ran for a touchdown.

Steelers 14 (6-4)
The Oilers completed a season swept of the Steelers for the first time since 1993, when they last reached the playoffs as the Houston Oilers. Tennessee's Al Del Greco kicked a 22-yarder with three seconds left that gave the Oilers a 16-13 lead. Oilers QB Steve McNair Steve completed 19-of-31 passes for 234 yards and once got it done running with six carries for 34 yards.

Rams 3 (3-7)
The Saints rushed for 102 yards, 38 by QB Kerry Collins, after averaging just 49.8 yards per contest rushing over the last six games. Collins threw for 62 yards and completed five passes on the Saints' opening drive, capping it off with a 10-yard touchdown toss to Cam Cleeland for a 7-0 lead. Saints QB Kerry Collins set the tone early and showed he had overcome a bitter end with his former team, Carolina, and a drunken driving incident earlier in the month.

Eagles 3 (2-8)
The Eagles struggled on short yardage plays, going 2-for-12 on third and fourth downs with one or two yards to go. Eagles QB Bobby Hoying threw three interceptions that led to two short Redskins touchdown drives and was sacked five times. Redskins rookie running back Skip Hicks rushed 26 times for 94 yards and three touchdowns.

49ers 19 (7-3)
The "12th man" for was their first sellout crowd in three years, who roared throughout the game, as the Falcons took sole possession of first place in the NFC West. The Falcons, leading 10-6 late in the third, put the 49ers on their heels when Ray Buchanan intercepted a Steve Young pass and returned it 34 yards to the 1 and setup a touchdown. Falcons tailback Jamal Anderson ran for 100 yards on 31 carries to go over 1,000 yards for the season.

Dolphins 13 (7-3)
Panthers 9 (1-9)
The Dolphins rushed for a season-high 184 yards on 40 carries, overcoming an off day by future Hall-of-Famer Dan Marino. Dolphins got the running game going early, as running back Kareem Abdul-Jabbar carried the ball seven times for 69 yards on the opening drive. Dolphins' Karim Abdul-Jabbar carried the ball 25 times for 127 yards, the best outing by a Miami player since 1996.

Colts 24 (2-8)
The Colts showed great resilience, trailing the Jets 23-10 at the half, before coming back with 14-straight points to win. The Colts drove 80 yards on their final possession, including a 14-yard touchdown grab by Marcus Pollard for the game-winner with 24 seconds to go. Colts QB Peyton Manning threw for 276 yards on 26-of-44 passing, which including touchdown passes of 4 yards to Torrance Small and 38 yards to Marvin Harrison.

Patriots 10 (5-5)
The Bills rushed for 213 yards, just 2 shy of their previous high against the Rams, including a season high 76 yards from Thurman Thomas. Buffalo's Doug Flutie threw a 10-yard pass to Jay Riemersma late in the third quarter. Those were the winning points and the Bills' first touchdown in almost seven quarters. Bills QB Doug Flutie, who rushed for 49 yards and threw for just 178 yards, has not lost a regular-season home game as a starter in the NFL (8-0).

Chargers 14 (4-6)
San Diego controlled the game by holding onto the ball, as the Chargers had possession for 34:03. San Diego running back Terrell Fletcher ran in for a touchdown from 3 yards out to score the game-winner with 14:47 to play in the game. Chargers RB Terrell Fletcher had 65 total yards and a the game-winning score, filling in for Natrone Means after he broke his leg.

Raiders 20 (7-3)
Seahawks 17 (5-5)
The Seahawks failed to get the first downs when they needed to, going 0-for-13 on third down and averaging just 4.4 yards per play. Raiders place kicker Greg Davis' second field goal of the fourth quarter, a 37-yarder with 21 seconds left, gave the team a 20-17 win. Harvey Williams, came off the bench for the injured Napolean Kaufman, ran for 79 yards on 12 carries, including a 25-yard touchdown run.

Cowboys 35 (7-3)
Cardinals 28 (5-5)
The Cardinals ran for just 32 yards on 21 carries, an average of 1.5 yards per rush. Arizona's QB Jake Plummer compiled a career-high 456 yards passing and three touchdowns, but the final pass of the game was knocked out of Rob Moore's hands as time expired. Emmitt Smith, who for 118 yards on 26 carries, rushed for three scores to move ahead of Jim Brown to No. 3 on the NFL career touchdown list with 127.

Giants 3 (3-7)
Sure the Packers offense put on a show, but it was the defense that allowed the Giants just 127 total yards on 49 plays (2.6 per play). Pick a play, any play. The Packers biggest play was a 60-yard scoring pass by Brett Favre to backup tight end Tyrone Davis. Packers' Brett Favre became the second-fastest quarterback to throw 200 career touchdown passes and reach the 25,000-yard plateau in yards.

Jaguars 29 (8-2)
Tampa Bay turned the ball over three times, including two interceptions thrown by QB Trent Dilfer, while Jacksonville had no turnovers. Jacksonville's rookie running back Fred Taylor took off on a 70-yard touchdown run with 2:40 remaining to lift the Jaguars to a 29-24 victory. Jaguars' Fred Taylor amassed 128 yards on 21 carries, which ties the team's single-game rushing record he set September 20.

Detroit controlled the game by holding onto the ball, as the Lions had possession for 35:07. Lions fullback Tommy Vardell put on a show. Scoring the Lions first two touchdowns, one on the ground and through the air. Detroit rookie QB Charlie Batch completed 16-of-21 passes for 253 yards with one TD.

Chiefs 7 (4-6)
The Chiefs amassed just 31 rushing yards on 19 carries. Terrell Davis took the wind out of the Chiefs' sails with a slashing 41-yard TD run for Denver's second (and eventual game-winning) score. Broncos QB Bubby Brister passed for 180 yards and ran for another 53, including 38-yard bootleg scramble for Denver's first score.
