The fiery Kevin Loughery played 11 seasons as a guard with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons, Baltimore Bullets and Philadelphia 76ers, then coached for 20 seasons with six different teams.
Loughery served as one of the league's last player-coaches with the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers and coached the New Jersey Nets to two ABA championships. He was later an NBA scout and VP/Director of Player Personnel for the Miami Heat as well as an NBA broadcaster.
The 60-year-old Bronx, N.Y., native played his college ball at Boston College and at St. John’s, under legendary head coach Lou Carnesecca.
