Baseball fans from far and wide knew deep down in their heart of hearts that this 2000 World Series, the first in 44 years to feature two teams from New York City, was going to be something special. The crosstown rivals didn’t disappoint in Game 1, staging a 4-hour, 51 minute marathon in The House That Ruth Built. In the end, the game came down to two B’s – baserunning and the bullpen.
