Williams sisters win gold in doubles
It didn't take Venus and Serena Williams long to claim gold in women's doubles. Russia's Yevgeny Kafelnikov won the men's singles gold in a marathon match. Venus Williams earned her second gold medal, by teaming with sister Serena to beat Miriam Oremans and Kristie Boogert of the Netherlands in just 50 minutes. Kafelnikov, meanwhile, battled for 3 1/2 hours before overcoming Tommy Haas.

Venus Williams beat 18-year-old Elena Dementieva 6-2, 6-4 to win an Olympic gold medal.
