Shoes make the whole outfit
Miki Barber is a member of 2000 U.S. Olympic team 4x400-meter relay team. The junior at the University of South Carolina won the 2000 NCAA 400-meter title with a time of 51.14 seconds. In 1999, Barber became the first female at USC to win a medal at an international competition, placing second in the 400 meters and winning gold in the 4x400 relay at the World University Games. Check out Barber's Fashion Report on CNNSI.com throughout the Olympic Games. August 29, 2000Columbia, South Carolina I haven't started packing yet, but I still have a few days. The first thing I will pack is my shoes -- I love shoes! Shoes make the whole outfit. I will probably pack three pairs of sandals, a couple pair of shoe boots and of course sneakers! I will also throw in a number of pairs of jeans and maybe a few skirts. I will pack a lot of lounge-around clothes. My favorite gray and black stretch flare out pants. We get a lot of Olympic stuff when we process in San Diego next week, but I like to wear a lot of my own stuff. I don't know what the weather will be like so I will pack a lot of different things. I am working on getting my travel items together. I need to get some new make-up, especially eye shadow. I love to shop! I don't know what kind of clothes they will have in Australia, but I can't wait to get there and see them. I will make that a priority. I leave on Sunday, Sept. 3 for San Diego and then Brisbane later that week. The night before I leave my three teammates and I will be honored at the halftime of the South Carolina-New Mexico State football game. We won the NCAA 4x400 relay outdoor title in 2000. It will be the last night I will be with my twin sister Lisa. Maybe we should mess with people a little bit and dress exactly alike. I'm really going to miss her! We normally dress very different -- Lisa dresses in dark colors and I wear more bright colors. I am so excited to go to the Olympics and run. But, I can't wait to get over to Australia and see what everyone is wearing!
