Canadian Olympic high jumper out of pocket
GOLD COAST, Australia, Sept 4 (AFP) - Canadian Olympic high jumper Mark Boswell made a bad start to his Olympic campaign Monday when he lost his wallet containing more than 7,000 US dollars cash at Brisbane Airport Boswell, 22, believes he left his wallet in the luggage trolley at the airport but did not realise it was missing until he was more than half way to the Gold Coast. "I had it in my trolley and I guess I must have left it," he said. "It's got all my stuff in it, passport, money, credit cards, everything." Boswell, who won silver last year in the world championships, is a medal contender in Sydney. He flew into Australia from Berlin where he won the high jump at the Golden League international athletics meeting. The 7,000 dollars in the wallet was earnings from a recent track meet in Greece. Although suffering from jet lag, Boswell drove back to the airport to try to find the wallet, without success. Police have been notified. "It's a downer but you know I've just got to start re-focusing and get ready for the Games," he said.
