SYDNEY, Sept 16 (AFP) - Australia coach Raul Blanco brushed off an appeal from Leeds United on Sunday to release star forward Mark Viduka after Australia were eliminated from further progress in the Olympic tournament.

"Leeds United have been selfish and shown us no respect, so why should I show them any now," said Blanco after Australia lost 3-2 to Nigeria.

Australia's second loss meant they could not qualify for the quarter-finals even if they win their last group match against Honduras.

"Mark Viduka is a member of the Australian Olympic squad and we have another match on Tuesday against Honduras. Mark will be in that match," Blanco said.

Leeds play AC Milan in the Champions League next week needing a victory after their 4-0 defeat to Barcelona last Wednesday.

But the English Premiership club have consistently riled the Australians by refusing to release fellow Australian Harry Kewell in the past.

Kewell was injured and missed these Olympics but Viduka joined the squad only two days before Australia lost their opening match 1-0 to Italy.
