SYDNEY, Sept 21 (AFP) - France's triple Olympic champion Marie-Jose Perec mysteriously left Sydney Wednesday, without giving her destination or revealing whether she would participate in the Sydney Olympics, her agent Annick Avierinos has announced.

"Marie Jose Perec took her decision after being threatened Wednesday at her hotel room," said Avierinos from Paris.

Her departure has thrown into doubt her participation in the 400 metre event which is set to kick off Friday.
