BONN, Germany (Reuters) -- United States midfielder Claudio Reyna said Thursday he wanted to leave VfL Wolfsburg, currently last in the German first division.

"I want to leave," said Reyna after being left out of the team by coach Wolfgang Wolf for Friday's Bundesliga match away to champions Kaiserslautern. "I'm not interested in what's going on here anymore."

The 25-year-old playmaker joined Wolfsburg from fellow German club Bayer Leverkusen in 1997. He has a contract running until June next year.
