PARIS (Reuters) -- Third seed Andre Agassi overwhelmed Frenchman Julien Boutter 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday to ease into the third round of the French Open.

The 1999 champion, who has yet to drop a set in the tournament, made light work of his 73rd-ranked opponent on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

Boutter, who beat Spaniard Albert Costa in the first round, needed treatment on an ankle injury during the match and was relentlessly pushed around the court by Agassi, who made no apology for exploiting his opponent's injury problems.

"It can be distracting but if somebody isn't at their best I smell blood," the 30-year-old Las Vegan said.

"The conditions were tough, it was windy and the ball was moving around so I really had to move my feet. But I can't complain. I feel with every game I'm going to get better."

Agassi, who was cheered on by his girlfriend Steffi Graf in the stands, will play Fernando Meligeni of Brazil or Ecuador's Nicolas Lapentti in round three.
