TNT and TBS Superstation Add Five Washington Wizards Games to NBA Telecast Schedule

Jordan's First Two Games to Air on TBS (Oct. 30) and TNT (Nov. 1)


With the recent announcement of Michael Jordan's return to the NBA as a Washington Wizards player, Turner Network Television (TNT) and TBS Superstation have adjusted their early season telecast schedule to include five additional Wizards games. As part of the original schedule, TNT will air the Nov. 28 Wizards @ Sixers game, totaling six Wizards games on TNT and TBS combined. The following matchups will air in October and November, and Inside The NBA will follow the last game each night. On Tues., Oct. 30, TBS will air a 30-minute preview show, NBA Tip-Off '01, at 7 p.m. with host Ernie Johnson and analysts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith.

Entire TNT/TBS Broadcast Schedule

The announcement was made today by Turner Sports President Mark Lazarus. "As is the history of our 18-year relationship with the NBA, we were able to work together to bring the most compelling schedule possible to our viewers," said Lazarus. In addition, TNT will air two preseason games on Sat., Oct. 20, replacing the originally scheduled games on Oct. 12 and 13.

The adjusted TNT/TBS NBA schedule will still include 79 games, which will air every Tuesday (TBS), Wednesday and Thursday (TNT). This is the 18th consecutive year that Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s networks will televise the NBA, and the eighth straight season that games will appear on both networks.
