Former LSU QB feels ready for NFL

CNNSI Host: Welcome to the Josh Booty chat. Thanks for calling in, Josh.
Josh Booty: Thanks for tuning in.

From James Brou in New Orleans: Josh, what do you think is one of the areas that you need to improve upon to make the transition to the NFL?
Josh Booty: I think I need to get into a system to learn as much as I can, so that I can play as soon as I can. The reason I left early is so I can get into an NFL system and then play as soon as possible.

From Sonny Koufax in Minden, La.: Josh is there any chance Abram will sign on with the team that drafts you? I thought he was great his first two years at LSU. I hope Dallas picks you, good luck. Geaux Tigers!
Josh Booty: That would be a dream come true if Dallas chose me, being so close to home. My brother is going to wait and see what happens with me on draft day and may try to sign with the same team. Depends on where I go.

From Jason Sundbery in Baton Rouge, La.: Josh, how hard was it for you to leave LSU, and what team would you really like to play for?
Josh Booty: It's difficult because I had another year left. My brother is graduating this year, which made the transition easier. My best case scenario would to play for the Chiefs or the Cowboys.

From Spence: Josh, do you think anywhere you play in the NFL will be as exciting as Saturday nights in Tiger Stadium?
Josh Booty: That's a good question. I can't wait to play in the NFL, that's been a dream of mine, to play with the best players in America. That's a big-time thrill.

From Doug White in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.: It was great watching play in purple and gold. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing you play at the next level. What was your greatest moment in an LSU uniform?
Josh Booty: This year, when we beat Alabama at home. It was the first time we beat Alabama at Tiger Stadium since 1969, so that was a big deal.

From David "Fuzzy" Garber in Sherman Oaks, Calif.: Why did you leave LSU so early? If you had stayed, LSU would be a front seat contender for the SEC West Title, and you would have a big chance of being SEC Offensive Player of the Year.
Josh Booty: I'm 25 years old and ready to learn the NFL game. I felt like there's another group of 17 and 18 years old ready to learn the game. I'm no getting any younger. I have the potential to move on and learn the system. My dream is to play in the NFL so I figured it was as good time as any to go.

From Josh: What strengths do you think you have over other QBs in the NFL Draft?
Josh Booty: My durability, my size and I can move around in the pocket. My arm is my great attribute, but I can also move around and throw on the run. I'm not just a stationary guy.

From brla: What will you do to earn the respect of your teammates in the NFL?
Josh Booty: Just be there every day and work hard everyday. You just have to show up, participate, work hard and have fun and be a good teammate.

CNNSI Host: That's all the time we have today with Josh Booty. Josh, thanks for your time and good luck in the draft.
Josh Booty: Thank you, I appreciate it.
